The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) have concluded an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the construction of a new interchange along Interstate 70 (I-70) between Eagle and Gypsum to accommodate the recent expansion of the airport and anticipated growth among surrounding communities.

The EA investigated solutions to provide a more direct connection between I-70 and the Eagle County Regional Airport. A finding of No Significant Impacts (FONSI) was issued in June 2005. The EA was finalized in August, 2004 and a public hearing was held on September 23, 2004 to obtain comments from the public on this document.

Please visit theEagle County Website or directly contact Tammie Smith (Environmental Coordinator) of CDOT at (970) 248-7226 or Tammie.Smith@dot.state.co.us for more information on transportation projects in the area.
